Reguarly Scheduled GIS Trainings, 2003-10
Blue Skies is entering our seventh year of providing regularly scheduled GIS trainings in Juneau, Dillingham, and Southcentral. These trainings have included the 1-day Introduction to GIS Concepts, the 1-day Practical GIS in Alaska, the 1-day Advanced GIS for Alaska, the 3-day ESRI ArcGIS Desktop II: Tools & Functionality, & the 2-day ESRI ArcGIS Desktop III: Workflows & Analysis.

In late 2010, the course offerings will be updated to correspond with the release of ArcGIS Desktop version 10.

Participants have attended from the Bureau of Land Managment, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Alaska Dept. of Environmental Conservation, the Alaska Dept. of Natural Resources, the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game, the National Park Service, Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority, City/Borough of Ketchikan, City/Borough of Juneau, the Army Corps of Engineers, the Bristol Bay Native Association & the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Onsite GIS Trainings for Organizations, 2003-10
Blue Skies has also provided onsite GIS trainings for organizations across the state; including the Alaska Department of Fish & Game in Kodiak, the Chickaloon Native Village, the Kenai Peninsula Borough Spruce Bark Beetle Mitigation Program, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Kenai River Center, the Portage Creek Village Council, environmental coordinators in rural Western Alaska communities (sponsored by the Bristol Bay Native Association (BBNA)), and engineering firms.

These trainings have covered standardized class material, but have also been customized to work with data and applications specific to the client organization.
