Advanced GIS in Alaska    (length: 1-day)

This course is designed to take what you've learned in ArcGIS Desktop III and put that knowledge to work for you using Alaska data. Participants design and create a File Geodatabase to store EPA Brownfields information. The geodatabase will include digital camera photos stored directly in a feature class attribute table. Then students learn to export data (and photos) into KMl/KMZ format for use in Google Earth. Students also learn some of the finer points of working with raster data in a geodatabase format. Finally, applications of GIS in Alaska using watershed management as an example are explored.
